I paid my mortgage off early and was treated hence forth as Persona Non Grata. You would think that someone who shows financial responsibility would be treated at least as well as anyone else. The change in attitude after I paid off my mortgage (7 years into a 20 year mortgage) was palpable. It was like I ran over the company kitty-cat and and mailed them them the mortal remains as a christmas present. I take my business else where.
