Marjon Specialty Foods manufactures and produces bean sprouts, alfalfa sprouts and a variety of other specialty sprouts. It also makes salad dressings, fresh ginger stir-fry sauce, tofu and other soy items. The company also packages a variety of grains, specialty vegetables and fruits. Marcia Miller founded the company in 1972 and started by growing bean sprouts at home. The company has expanded but still specializes in sprouts. Marjon makes sprouts in revolving drums and stationary bins in a sophisticated control system. It makes various types of sprouts by controlling climate, light and darkness in each system.
