I have been taking my dogs here for years and have never left unhappy with the care that they have received. But Doc Y and the vet techs are gone above and beyond with my new frenchie. They are clearly excited to see and love on her whenever we have to take her to the vet and it is a wonderful feeling when you know your baby is loved and cared for by her vet. Doc Y is very experienced and knows his stuff. You can tell by the way he acts toward your pet that he does this out of love for animals and truly wants to make them well and as healthy as can be. He is also practical and honest I have never left feeling like he just ran tests to rack up the bill. I recommend ALL people with an animal to go to Southside and as long as it is there they will be my vet.
I rarely rate anything with a perfect score, but Dr. Y and his staff certainly deserve the score. They are always polite and courteous when I visit. They have treated me with the utmost respect and take time to explain every test, procedure and medication. Dr. Y always greets me and Calvin ny name and gives him a scratch. Dr. Y has a special talent for handling cats, even when they are grumpy. I brought a kitten in once that had contracted FIP when he was returned to me after being neutered under TNR. I'd only had this kitten my life for 5 days, yet he had lost 1/2 of his body weight. Dr. Y explained the condition, how it was fatal and euthanasia was the best course of action. I agreed. Dr. Y asked if I wanted to spend some time with the kitten and, when I said "yes," told me to let someone know when I was ready and left me and my kitten. After helping this precious soul cross over, Dr. Y said, "take all the time you need" and left me grieve. I highly recommend this clinic.

The staff at this vet are rude, the doctor himself is a sad excuse for a human being . My friend got hired on to help the animals and he called her names, put her down, told her things that no person in the work area should say . I will never visit this place ever again . They should be shut down .
I have been seeing Dr. Weirather for several years for my 2 boxers. This Vet seems to really care about the well being of my dogs and is not out to make a quick dollar. I find him to be extremely thorough and his prices are more fair than any Vet I have seen. Staff has been very polite and courteous. I highly recommend!
Horrible!! I agree with the people who said do NOT take your fur baby there in a crisis. doc Y and his staff are ill equipped to deal with one. I took my baby there for a few years ONLY because he was the 2nd vet in her life that could handle her, as she pretty was a handful with everyone but me. In my opinion they are OK if you are just getting routine care such as shots, if your pet is doing well, or if you can'tafford a better vet. I could, and can and should have left earlier, I had a bad impression almost from the beginning, and I feel guilty about that. My cat was special needs, she had diabetes and a heart problem since 2 years old, and came down with CRF at about age 8. I can't even list ALL of the times doc Y and staff proved their lack of knowledge, it would take all day. They are not very well versed in diabetes, and other forms of illness. Doc on several visits trued to give me drugs or supplements like nutra-cal which a diabetic can't have. Several times I went home with
