We have been with Willow Bend for 5 years and now is time to transition to Kindergarten. Our daughter has learned so much here, and compare with other kids in other day cares she is far beyond in academics. They exceed in academics and go the extra mile to teach. Great place if you want your kid to learn and not just play! Ms. Savi and Ms. Robbie are great teachers.

My son was enrolled at Willow Bend Learning Center since he was 6 weeks old. He is now 10 months. Unfortunately, we moved and had to move him to a closer learning center. I wish I could have left him at Willow Bend. They staff has been spectacular, especially Ms. Betty & Ms. Tiffany in the infant class. My son has had breathing problems and was in the hospital several times. The teachers and staff were always supportive during this time. Ms. Prascilla and Ms. Roonu are always very curtious when we walk into the center. The staff makes us feel like we are special and not just another parent picking/dropping off our child. I cannot say enough how much we love this center. I wish the center was closer to our new home. We wish Willow Bend the best of luck. Should we move back to the Plano area we will definitely be re-enrollin him.

I've been closely working with WBLC for a few years. Each time I visit, the staff is always very friendly and I see children engaged in learning over and over. The facility is secure and the staff very obviously cares about the well-being of each child. I highly recommend Willow Bend Learning Center to my friends and family based on what I've observed over the past few years -- a top-notch child care facility.

My husband and I took a tour of Willow Bend after seeing their advertisements. Reviews online were mixed. The outside appeared creepy and foreboding, honestly. There was absolutely nothing welcoming about the outside. The interior was somewhat better but generic with a precious moments mural in need of repair. We took the tour, while impressed with Priscilla (?), the rest of the staff left little to be desired. The uniforms were T-shirt and whatever pants. I saw teachers in yoga pants. Teachers in sweat pants. Most of the staff looked like they could care less about how they looked, let alone about their job. My husband remarked how glum everyone appeared and lackadaisical. In my mind, you're working with children, therefore you should have a happy face. To me, the approach seemed to be "this is a job". As a parent, I'm uncomfortable with anyone have access to my child for 4-5 hours a day with the attitude of "it's a job". My second observation was the size of the classrooms. The children seemed to be packed into small rooms bursting at the seems. My husband and I have been educated through the process about state ratios, and I doubt Willow Bend is adhering the state guidelines. Again, their record is clean but I have to wonder for how long.Third observation, the children themselves seemed to be robotic. We were informed about their "strict" discipline policy and their methodology for rooting out undesirable children. After talking to both my parents, long time teaching veterans, I wonder if this center has age appropriate expectations. To me, they seemed to want miniature adults and not small children. What struck me most, the children didn't seem happy. I expected excited chatter, instead we found something out of a Pink Floyd video. Not to mention in the last class we visited, the senior teacher looked to be overwhelmed and her assistant remained in a chair doing little to nothing. After meeting the center director, I understood where the expectation was rooted. Runnu (?) was polite but cold. She did not have the loving attitude comparable to other centers we had visited. She didn't know the children by name, she was less than warm. She was also incredibly condescending. My husband said later, she gave him chills. I discovered she had little experience with small children. She actually taught in the same school district as my mother for a short time. She has no background in psychology or early childhood development. Her only qualification was being an assistant principal in an elementary school for two years. We met a parent outside whom said: "We aren't 'happy' but it's cheap child care for the area."We were also uncomfortable with the "field trips" in light of state regulations saying children under 5 aren't allowed on a van or bus w/o a car seat. When I asked, I wasn't given a specific answer. All in all, Willow Bend is a day care center. The curriculum is not based on best practices. They lack a curriculum specialist. They tend to pick parts from various different curriculum. The "teachers" are untrained, many only have experience in child care. Willow Bend does not provide training to their staff, at all. This should concern any parent. Finally, what sealed our opinion was the director. Any person not familiar with the children, not interacting with children in her care is someone not suited to be in the child care industry. We chose another center, the cost was more but in the end Willow Bend was not what they profess to be. Our daughter is priority for us and should be more than a number.

Very scary experience. Sharp pointed scissors!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They had sharp pointed Scissors in the room with 3 year old group and blamed it on a mixup with the 5 year old class. I arrived and witnesed a 3 year old stabbing scissors into a wall and my son running across the room with a pair of sharp pointed scissors toward the other kids. Who has sharp pointed Scissors and not blunt with 5 or 3 year olds? Very dangerous and scared the BLANK out of me. We pulled our child out that day.
