This restaurant has been a regular stop for us for years... but upon our arrival yesterday we noticed a few changes in the restaurant it was brighter and the "marquis" read The New Hong Kong Star REstaurant. In recent weeks I have made an effort to eat gluten free and scanned the menu for items that would not be a problem... while my husband ordered his "usual" Shrimp Chow Mein and Plain Fried Rice. I finally decided on the Shrimp Chow Mei Fun,,, When our food arrived it was steaming hot....beautifully presented ....generous portions... and positively as fresh as can been. Hubby had diet coke.. and I ordered the tea! We thoroughly enjoyed out meal! It was POSITIVELY DELICIOUS... Our server was a lovely young asian woman who was cheerful and very helpful... We drive into Plainfield frequently and will be looking forward to sitting down to a delicious meal of chinese food from an unsuspecting "diamond in the rough"!!!
