Located in Upper St. Clair, Pa., the Upper St. Clair Police Department works to provide law enforcement services, deter criminal activities, maintain law and order, and protect lives and property. Its investigative division performs duties related to the extensive follow-up investigation of criminal complaints, as well as handles community relations and crime prevention activities. The department s patrol division consists of officers who provide 24-hour patrol, answer calls for services and conduct initial investigations into traffic complaints and accidents. The Upper St. Clair Police Department has a special investigation and tactical team that provides police response services during emergency and unusual occurrences. The department additionally operates animal control, administrative and communication units. The Upper St. Clair Police Department also supports vacation check and bicycle registration and safety programs. It employs more than 30 full- and part-time sworn officers. The department hosts the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program, which helps children avoid involvement with drugs, gangs and violence.
