In the 3 mths that we lived here my 4-yr-old and 18-mnth-old were twice nearly mauled by large dogs - once right at my doorstep and once as we got out of the car parked just outside our pet-free building. Both times we weren't even looking at the dogs - they ran right up to us - no leashes - and started barking at the kids. The owners didn't seem to care and kept insisting that the dogs were trained not to bite, as if it was my children's fault for being terrorized. My kids were so traumatized we moved out even before our lease was up and new house was ready. There is supposedly a policy for leashes to be used at all times but it is not enforced and all management said was that they would send out a "memo" - no fine or action that might have any actual consequences. My kids escaped with minor scrapes and nightmares - yours might not be so lucky. Here, large pets and obnoxious, unapologetic, irresponsible pet owners are given preference over families with human children.
