- Family PracticePlumsteadville Family Practice was started over 60 years ago by a young enthusiastic physician named Dr. Charles Burmeister. Over the years, as our community and the practice of medicine have changed, we have grown to meet those needs. Although Dr. Burmeister retired from medicine in 2012, his commitment and concern for the members of this community remain the focus of the practice.
- Emergency CareKhara joined our practice in 2018. She received her first bachelor's degree in 1998 from Virginia Tech University in Family & Child Development and then worked in the field of mental health until earning her RN degree from St. Luke's School of Nursing in 2008. Over the course of 10 years, Khara worked in the hospital health systems specializing in Critical Care as well as gaining experience in Emergency Room nursing. Khara earned her Bachelor's degree in Nursing and her Master's in Nursing from Chamberlain University and is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner.
- ElectrocardiogramPlumsteadville Family Practice, an independent family practice of 60 years with the Doylestown Health Network, is looking for an MA, LPN or RN. - Sports MedicineDr. Joseph D. Ferrara came to Plumsteadville Family Practice in 1987. He is board certified in Family Medicine, receiving his specialty training at Columbia’s Family Practice Residency Program at Overlook Hospital in Summit, New Jersey. Dr. Ferrara is a graduate of the University of Virginia and Penn State College of Medicine. He serves the community of Doylestown as a sports team physician, a local school health educator, and as a volunteer for the Ann Silverman Free clinic of Doylestown Hospital. His special interests include sports medicine, wrestling and service to the people of Haiti as the medical director of a clinic in Port au Prince. Dr. Ferrara is married and the father of 5.

Our physicians and nurse practitioner are available for home visits when needed.
