The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department is responsible for the maintenance of law and order in Jefferson County, Ark. It offers various services to the public that include serving summons, capias facias, attachments, and writs of garnishment, injunction and subpoena and execution. The department operates patrol, criminal investigation, fugitive and warrants, technical services, training and transport divisions. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department also operates a drug task force, special response team, reserve deputy unit, and adult detention and juvenile justice centers. Its warrants division compiles a list of the most wanted fugitives from Jefferson County and also transports prisoners to and from court. The department also operates a civil division that is responsible for serving protection and restraining orders and eviction notices. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department is located in Pine Bluff, Ark.
