These folks did an AMAZING job with the restoration of an old textbook. My 92-year old aunt had written a chapter in this book and it was important to her. They made it look like it was new! If I ever needed to restore another book, this is definitely the place to which I would return. They were terrific! Worth the drive and the effort to find their offices. Nice people, too.
Judy and her staff did a superb job in making a clam shell box for a very old Polyglot Bible for my husband's birthday. It is absolutely beautiful! They also bound our family tree volumes which turned out fantastic. Joan and Lon
Superb customer service and a high quality product. I had my dissertation manuscript printed and bound at this company and highly recommend them for other master and doctoral students. Judy in particular worked with me through multiple emails and phone calls to ensure that I had all the correct information for the spine, cover, and printing of color copies. The timeline for printing was spot on and the home delivery was ahead of schedule. Thank you everyone for the safe delivery my "baby." Cecelia L. Crawford, RN, DNP
What a fantastic compnay. I have been using them for over 20 plus years. My periodicals have been bound perfectly as well as many items done beautifully in leather. They are VERY friendly and professional. I would never consider going to anyone else.
the work your company did to refurbish that very special 108 year old book, was impeccable. until i marry my girlfriend and have a child with her, i don't think ill ever be able to match the gift that i gave her on xmas, when she unwrapped that book. I took a classic stamp book to Kater-Crafts. They beautifully rebound it, peeled the old front of the prior binding, and had it ready in the time promised and at the price promised. I was very satisfied.

I have a 2-volume 120+ year old dictionary, which was in very poor shape. The leather covers were disintegrating and part of the covers were torn off. I had the good fortune of finding Kater Crafts and took the books in with the hope that they would keep them from further degradation. The books have been hand-restored and look beautiful!

I took two books to Kater-Crafts for restoration rebinding - one that was two hundred years old and missing the front cover, and a 65 year old huge book of bound newspapers that had lost it's spine resulting in the separation of the leaves as well as some individual pages. The state of the second book along with it's size and old and fragile newspaper pages made it a difficult book to rebind. Judy made excellent suggestions as to the leatherette binding, color choices, as well as what was needed to repair the newspaper book in order to rebind it. She provided an accurate estimate of both the cost and the length of time required to repair and rebind the books. When they were finished, the books looked even better than I had imagined they could. Very friendly service and extremely talented bookbinders! I would not hesitate to use them again with confidence.

I recently gathered several of my husband's research articles together and had them bound into a book as a gift for his 50th birthday. Judy, the graphic artist at Kater Crafts, assisted me in selecting the various materials needed for the book such as the leather, cover paper, font selection and she tole me about special touches to enhance the cover and binding of the book. I was thrilled with the final product, as was my husband. I highly recommend Kater Crafts Bookbinders.
I recently bought a John Deere 1930's operation manual at a swap meet. The binder was in rough shape, but thought it would be neat to have. I took it to KATER-CRAFTS, and they restored it to look like new. I started showing it around to friends, and was offered 10 times what I invested in it.
Recently, I helped a friend write her memoir, and have had the joy of working with Kater-Crafts Bookbindery. In creating six beautiful books for the children, Judy, the talented graphic artist at Kater-Crafts, designed elegant, gold embossed covers, which also have lovely raised imprints of ivy trailing down the borders. The gold lettering is echoed in the gilt edged pages, and the first things you see when you open the book are the marbled Italian endpapers and a thin green satin bookmark which is sewn in. The family is thrilled with these books, which will be treasured through generations. This project has been such a great success that my friend would like to have additional copies made for the grandchildren. Judy came up with a brilliant idea to make a second edition of fun and much simpler, cloth-bound, hardback books. Kater-Crafts Bookbindery's personable staff and excellent craftsmanship have made this project a pleasure, and I highly recommend this company to everyone.
Kater-Crafts has restored and/or recovered a number of items including my father's baby book, a well used cookbook whose cover was falling off, and a pamphlet from the mid-1800's. The work is first rate and they are the first one's to seek out when you are looking for someone to handle those special items. If there is something you need bound these are the people to do the job.
Thank you Judy, for helping to restore my Mother's Family Cookbooks. I have thoroughly enjoyed revisiting her repies again, without being in fear of the books falling apart! I willl truly recommend this business to everyone in need.

My Mother used a Field Guide when bird watching with me when I was a boy. In 1971 she gave me my own copy. Mine fell apart. When my Mother died, I got her tattered copy. Both of them have our "life lists" of birds and handwritten notes. They are precious. I sent them to Kater Crafts for restoration. When I got them back, they looked like the same old books; they were the same color and worn appearance, but the corners were restored, the spines were back on and the pages were all perfectly aligned and intact! They perfectly matched the worn green color of the cloth of the outside covers. They are like holding an old book that functions like a new one. It is remarkable craftsmanship they gave me and worth every penny!
My company, A.S.A.P. Publishing, which is a fine-arts small press has exclusively used Kater-Crafts Bookbinders for the past 15 years. I hold these book binding artisans in the highest regards. Every book that they have bound for us have truly been a work of fine art. With their vast knowledge of the book binding trade I know that every project will be completed on time and at a very reasonable cost.

When I sent my beloved childhood book "Elves and Fairies" to Kater Crafts Bookbinders to be restored I was overwhelmed by my emotional response upon its' return. Here is my favorite book from almost 60 years ago, masterfully put back together and yet exactly the same, like it had been taken care of lovingly all that time. In truth, the spine had fallen off, the binding had come undone, the plastic on the cover was peeling and shredded, many of the pages were creased and torn. I am thrilled with the result and happy to be able to use it once again.
