This is the last real record store in Arizona. It holds the vibe and the staff but most importantly, it holds the music. With an extensive selection of magazines, cds, and records, you can find nearly anything you need from hard-to-find artists to the classics. Make sure to check out the area that houses the current contests, upcoming shows, and fre posters. Stinkweeds does an awesome job of reminding me of the independant record stores that swarm downtown Portland, making it a store that I visit weekly for my music & culture fix. The same complex that the record store sits on houses Frances, an adorable clothing and home boutique, and Halo, a piercing and tattoo shop. If you are looking for some new music, check out The Magnetic Fields or April March; both will be priced fairly because this record store doesn't rip you off! Stinkweeds epitomizes the ideal record store: fun, friendly, and well stocked. Make it a habit or yours!
