  Aside from creating a perfect smile, porcelain veneers and Lumineers resist staining better than natural teeth. However, this does not mean that proper oral hygiene care is unnecessary. Your natural teeth are hiding behind your veneers and they still need attention. Brush your teeth every day with fluoridated toothpaste and floss in between your teeth to remove plaque buildup. You’ll also want to maintain a regular schedule of dental cleanings and exams every six months. At these appointments, we will also be able to check your veneers and provide any important maintenance. With proper care, your porcelain veneers or Lumineers can last for years and years.

• Oral Cancer Screening
  Tens of thousands of new oral cancer cases are diagnosed each year in the United States, many of which are already in dangerously advanced stages. Early intervention is critical, which is why our Lehigh Valley dental team has integrated oral cancer screenings into every regular checkup. We use VELScope® technology, which consists of a specialized light and viewing scope that clearly identifies abnormal tissue by darker colors than the rest of the mouth. If we locate anything concerning, further steps can be taken to positively identify the cells and determine if cancer is present.

• Teeth Cleaning
  Whether you have a mild case of gingivitis or the most severe case of periodontitis, you need help from your dentist and dental hygienist to achieve and maintain renewed oral health. For mild cases of gingivitis, more frequent professional cleanings and improved at-home hygiene may be all you need to renew your oral health. For more advanced cases, we will likely use scaling and root planing in addition to more frequently professional teeth cleanings.

The sealant is made from safe, durable plastic, and it’s virtually unnoticeable once in place.   In most cases, the placement of a tooth-colored filling will only require one appointment.
