AIDS Activities Coordinating Office administers federal, state and city-funded HIV/AIDS programs in Philadelphia through collaborative service contracts with community-based organizations. It also coordinates HIV/AIDS planning and policy activities. In addition, the office conducts AIDS surveillance activities in accordance with federal, state and county laws and requirements. AIDS Activities Coordinating Office also oversees epidemiological activities related to HIV/AIDS, including publication of quarterly reports and conducts education and training for professional, civic and community groups. It provides day and respite care, transportation, interpretation and emergency financial assistance services. The office has more than 30 HIV counseling and testing sites. AIDS Activities Coordinating Office is governed by the City of Philadelphia.
