Founded in 1975, COMHAR provides behavioral health services for individuals with developmental, mental and physical disabilities. It provides emergency psychiatric, case management, day care and rehabilitative services. The agency s intake and outpatient services include psychiatric evaluation, social history assessment, psychological testing; individual, group and family psychotherapy and psychotropic medication assessment and monitoring. It administers a psychosocial rehabilitation day program that is conducted at a clubhouse where each member works in various units. The agency offers outreach assessment and treatment services for senior citizens with mental health disorders. It also provides education and training to senior citizens, their caregivers and physicians on the signs and symptoms of mental illness. COMHAR is located in Philadelphia.
