Founded in 1973 by David and Natalie Bauman, Bauman Rare Books is one of the largest and best-known rare book retailers in the United States. Bauman offers books on a wide variety of subjects, such as environment, law, politics, American history, literary classics, monumental travel and exploration narratives, and revolutionary scientific and medical works. The company also offers decorative bindings and sets, children's books, art and illustrated books, signed and inscribed first editions, and autobiographies. It produces color-illustrated catalogues annually, featuring more than 100 new acquisitions, and provides domestic and international shipping services. Bauman Rare Books has two locations in Philadelphia and New York City.
