Associated Services for the Blind is a private, nonprofit organization that has been serving people with blindness and visual impairments since 1874. It provides a range of specialized services, including case management, shopping assistance and transportation. The organization provides 24-hour radio broadcasting services throughout Delaware, as well as provides custom recordings for individuals, organizations and corporations. It provides a variety of social, cultural and educational opportunities for people with visual impairments. The organization s rehabilitation program provides instruction in meal preparation, reading and writing Braille, keyboarding skills, labeling and selecting clothes and using specially adapted equipment.
