South Side Trust & Savings Bank has been providing banking and financial services to the local community since 1922. Its first Board of Directors was composed of neighborhood businessmen and stockyard members who recognized the need to bring banking closer to the South Side of Peoria. The capital to establish South Side Bank was provided by 203 local investors. Today, South Side Bank remains one of the very few independent, locally-owned and operated financial institutions in the Tri-County area.
