Located in Peoria, Ariz., City of Peoria Fire Department is a municipal department comprised of more than 120 sworn and civilian personnel that serve over 139,000 people. Founded in 1920, the department is operated by the city of Peoria and has various divisions, including administration, operations and community and support services. Its operations division provides various services, such as fire suppression, emergency medical treatment, technical rescue, and technical, supervisory and managerial training of all field personnel. The operations division administers more than five fire stations with various paramedic engine and ladder companies, brush trucks and a shift commander. Its community services division provides inspections, plan reviews, issuance of permits, fire cause and internal safety investigations, fire code enforcement, citizen safety awareness programs, community relations development events, and public fire and public information services,. The department s support services division offers database maintenance, capital construction, facility and equipment maintenance, fleet repair and supply acquisition services.
