Twice, Garden Chapel has received the National Funeral Directors Association ( NFDA ) "Pursuit of Excellence Eagle" award. And it has received the Iowa Funeral Directors Award of Excellence for nine consecutive years. It has also been recognized by the NFDA for participating in the "For a Life Worth Celebrating" program. Founded in 1929, Garden Chapel is cooperatively owned and governed by a local board of directors.
