Citizens for Adequate Housing, also known as CAH, is a nonprofit organization that offers a range of support services for homeless and low-income families. Founded in 1983, it administers various emergency shelter and transitional housing programs. The organization s emergency shelter program includes case management, counseling, transportation, education, employment, legal and mental health and day care services. Citizens for Adequate Housing conducts the North Shore Community Action Program, which features assistance for families in the area of permanent and affordable housing. It provides recovery, relapse education, prevention and family preservation services through its transitional housing program. Additionally, the organization provides various budgeting, nutrition, health care, and parenting and life skills development services. Citizens for Adequate Housing is located in Peabody, Mass.
