Children Services is a unit of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services, which provides a variety of health care and human services. Children Services offers several community-based services related to children welfare. It provides adoption and post-adoption assistance, child protective services, foster care, independent living and refugee assistance. The unit offers permanent adoptive family through early identification, assessment and child preparation; recruitment and preparation of prospective adoptive parents; elimination of legal and other barriers to adoption; and ensures supportive services. It provides therapeutic foster care for psychological, social, behavioral and emotional needs of children, as well as operates an early intervention program for infants and toddlers with disabilities and developmental delays.
