Jimmy Colmer was born in Pascagoula, Mississippi in 1961. Mr. Colmer received a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in 1983 and a Juris Doctor Degree in 1986. He was admitted to the Mississippi Bar in 1986. He attended the University of Mississippi, and was a member of the University baseball team from 1980-1983. While in law school, he was a member of Delta Theta Phi Fraternity and served as President in 1984-85. He was the recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award in Agency and Partnerships. He served as an intern for U.S. Representative, Trent Lott. He has also served as President and Treasurer of the Young Lawyers Section of the Jackson County Bar Association, and as Vice-President and President of the Jackson County Bar Association. He is a member of the Jackson County Bar Association, the Mississippi Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Mississippi Defense Lawyers Association, and the Defense Research Institute. Mr. Colmer’s civic activities include terms as President, Vice President and Director of the Pascagoula Rotary Club, Vice President and Secretary of the Jackson County Port Authority Board of Commissioners in Pascagoula, Director of the United Way of Jackson County, and he is a graduate of Leadership Mississippi sponsored by the Mississippi Economic Council. Mr. Colmer is a Deacon and Elder of the First Presbyterian Church, Pascagoula. Mr. Colmer joined the Firm as an associate in 1986 and became a partner in 1991. His practice is general but primarily consists of trial work in both State and Federal courts in the fields of insurance defense, automobile and premises liability, and products liability. Mr. Colmer holds a "BV" rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
