Established in 1918, San Rafael Elementary School enrolls more than 400 students in kindergarten through grade six. The school offers the Pasadena LEARNS program, which includes academic assistance and cultural enrichment activities. San Rafael Elementary School's extracurricular activities include homework club, tutoring sessions, and drama, cooking and computer classes. It additionally offers Parks and Recreation program, which includes various sports activities, such as basketball, football and soccer. San Rafael Elementary School employs counselors who assist students in their personal and social development. It also provides after-school tutoring in English and mathematics. The school offers an English language development program that includes in-class instruction in core subject areas. San Rafael Elementary School's facilities include a multipurpose room, cafeteria, auditorium, library, computer laboratory, staff lounge, two playgrounds and more than 20 classrooms.
