Founded in 1985, Air Evac Lifeteam, operated by Air Evac EMS, is one of the largest independently owned and operated membership-supported air medical services in the United States. It conducts its operations through more than 80 mutually supporting air medical bases in over 10 U.S. states. The company serves nearly 1,000 hospitals and approximately 700 emergency medical service agencies. Air Evac Lifeteam operates a fleet of more than 100 medically equipped Bell 206 Long Ranger helicopters. Its service area includes operations in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas and West Virginia. Air Evac Lifeteam is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems.
