My son, who has muscular dystrophy, has lived with the Elgin family for 18 years. This facility is wonderful. The family cares for each child as if they were their own. They keep the facility fully staffed with qualified care providers, an RN on staff, available 24 hours a day, and a family physician on call 24 hours a day. The family keeps me informed of all that goes on, any physical illnesses and more importantly, they provide me the opportunity to make decisions regarding his care, even though I no longer have parental authority since he turned 18.



This was a fortuitous choice that fell into our laps, 18 years ago. We interviewed a number of homes before pacing our dear son with The Elgin Home. Their care and concern for our son's welfare cannot be bettered any where.



Funding for this facility comes from the Northern CA Regional system. Even when the CA government has failed to make payments on time, (sometimes for months at a time), the Elgin family makes sure the children receive the best care possible.
