Miami County Internet Onramp is the only local ISP capable of providing DSL Internet service in the immediate Paola, Kan., area. Due to phone line technology, only customers within 16,000 copper feet of the telephone office just off the Paola Square are able to subscribe to this service. The same rule applies for Kansas City area customers. Miami County Internet Onramp offers the Basic I level of service for DSL, which provides 384 kilobits per second to 1.5 millions of bits per second downstream speed and 128 to 256 kbps upstream speed.
