A Local Landmark - no decor to speak of, small place (Seats ~50), but they are known far and wide for great Dry-Rub and Vinegar based sauce Texas style beef BBQ. Plus BBQ chicken and hot links. Attentive service. Reasonable prices $12 - $20 per. Beer and wine.Has a dozen spaces of off-street parking on site, take Cash or major cards, Restrooms NOT ADA compliant (old building) but the restaurant is all ground floor.
This is by fare the best place for BBQ on the west coast. The meats (ribs) are slow cooked and smoked over apple and hickory for a full 12 hours and then boiled in the secret marinade just before serving. And absolute melt in you mouth, falling off the bone, dripping good easting experience! I take all my casual clients there and I eat there at least once a month. (My doctor hates this aspect of my life)The place is NOT known for its dcor, but it a great place for people who don't care about the looks of an eatery. The ribs and other meats are absolutely HUGE in portions, the sides are fantastic (especially the Cole slaw and the macaroni salad!) and the service is great, never have I gone more then 5 minutes between getting my sides to getting my ribs!Bottom line: if you come to LA, eat here just once, and you will have a good reason to come back!
they even thought about my 1 year old - they set a place for him at the table with a placemat, napkin and spoon. The service was also very good.
