- Pediatric Care
- Primary Care“I chose obstetrics and gynecology to build a relationship with patients. Combining primary care, surgery and emergency medicine, I have the privilege of taking care of women through their teenage years, pregnancy, menopause, and all of the ups and downs that come with living a full life. The most rewarding aspect of that is the bond that I form with my patients as we work together to make some of the most important– and oftentimes, some of the most exciting– decisions in their lives.”
- Ear InfectionsDo not give your baby a bottle while lying down or with it propped. Young infants may choke with a bottle and are unable to help themselves by pushing the bottle away. As he/she gets older; a baby who takes a bottle while lying down is more prone to ear infections. After teeth erupt the baby is more likely to suffer tooth decay.
- Emergency Care"When I went into preterm labor with triplets at just 24 weeks, I was petrified. Dr. McCoy met me at the emergency room within 10 minutes of finding out I was there and immediately put me at ease with her bedside manner and wonderful sense of humor. Over the next month, as I was on bed rest, she remained available and supportive. When I delivered the babies at 27 weeks (and on very short notice), Dr. McCoy made sure she was in the delivery room even though she was scheduled to leave on a family trip in just a few hours. My 27-week, 2-lb. babies are now almost 2 years old and thriving. Sam, Isaac, Scarlett, and my entire family are forever grateful to Dr. McCoy.”

- ObstetricsWe made the decision to start delivering exclusively at USA Health Children’s & Women’s Hospital in Mobile. This decision was made with the safety of our patients and their babies in mind. Children’s & Women’s is one of only a handful of freestanding hospitals in the United States dedicated to the exclusive care of children and women. It is the only hospital in our area offering 24-hour in-house anesthesia services, in-house pediatricians, a high-risk obstetrics program, a pediatric intensive care unit, and a level III neonatal intensive care unit. It is also the only hospital in the area with a 10-bed women’s evaluation center room staffed by board-certified OBGYNs who have years of experience in private practice. Having these physicians in the hospital 24 hours a day for emergencies gives our patients an extra layer of care and protection.
- Pregnancy“As a medical student, I felt drawn to Women’s Health. I found that I related on a personal level to the women I was caring for and the issues they faced. After a decade in this role, I still find it very fulfilling to take care of women through all the stages of their lives. Being by their side through one of the most memorable moments of their lives—pregnancy and childbirth—is beyond rewarding. But taking care of their gynecologic and surgical needs also brings excitement and variety to my work. I want the women in my care to always feel that they’ve received the best service, care and guidance that women’s healthcare offers.”
