The Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District operates more than 15 elementary, middle and high schools. The district provides academic instruction to more than 12,000 students in kindergarten through grade 12. Its schools curricula include language arts, social studies, science, family and consumer science, math and foreign languages. The district operates through human resources, food services, curriculum and instruction and transportation departments. Its schools offer various sports activities, such as basketball, soccer, cheerleading, softball, wrestling, football, volleyball, track and cross country. In addition, the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District offers several character education programs.
