My father was there. Care was not good. His room and bathroom unsanitary. He lost two sets of teeth and eyeglasses. Left unsupervised, he's had numerous falls, cuts and bruises, and trips to the ER. Facility is understaffed, owners and staff don't seem to care. Collect the money and that's it. Very poor attitude. Finally placed him elsewhere. Very unsatisfactory

My mom, a WWII veteran, is wheelchair bound and needs a lot of care. From our first visit, she loved the homey feel of Manatee River Assisted Living, which is small enough that I can get to know the staff and they can all know my mom and me. The food is good, a really important issue for Mom! The rooms have large windows, big closets. Although the rooms are fully furnished, the administration encourages residents to bring in their own furnishings to ease their transition. One resident recently brought her organ! It was placed in one of the spacious "living rooms," and now residents flock there every day to listen to the lovely music. Special events are planned many times a year and I am always notified by mail, so I can plan ahead and attend. Several times my family has gathered at Manatee River Assisted Living for small parties, with cake, ice cream, balloons, and 5 greatgrandkids. We were made welcome in either the large "living room," or the enclosed courtyard. The courtyard is beautiful, shady, has a gazebo, and is wheelchair accessible. The personal aides have built a relationship of trust and affection with Mom. When we see relatives or acquaintances, Mom often says she couldn't be happier in her home and would recommend it to anyone. So would I.
