Sherrod Elementary School has an enrollment of more than 400students in grades three through five. The school offers classes in English, math, science, social studies and language arts. Its curriculum also includes music, physical education and art. Sherrod Elementary School s parent-teacher association organizes fundraising events and recreational programs. The school has a library that houses a collection of storybooks, picture dictionaries and encyclopedias. In addition, it provides speech, occupational and physical therapies. Sherrod Elementary School offers various recreational activities to develop critical and creative thinking skills. The school provides special education services for students with physical and developmental disabilities. It is governed by the Matanuska-Susitna School District.
