The Palm Springs Fire Department is a full-service public safety agency that offers fire, rescue and disaster preparedness services to the community. It is an ISO Class 3 rated department and operates several fire stations that provide services in an area of more than 95 square miles. The Palm Springs Fire Department employs a staff of over 15 firefighters who respond to nearly 6,400 service calls annually. The fire department provides community emergency response team training classes that cover a range of topics that include disaster preparedness, hazardous materials, light search and rescue, and disaster medical operations and psychology. Established in 1931, the Palm Springs Fire Department is located in Palm Springs, Calif.
