- Comprehensive ExaminationAfter completing a yearly or semi-annual comprehensive physical examination, our veterinarian at Village Animal Clinic will evaluate your pet’s age, breed, and lifestyle to determine the risk of potential disease.
- Parasites Treatment and ControlIt is also extremely important to protect your pet from fleas and ticks by using a monthly preventative. Flea bites can cause flea allergy dermatitis as well as causing skin infections. Ingested fleas can transmit tapeworm and pets infected with fleas can become anemic. Heavy flea infestations may even cause death.
- Behavioral Disorder TreatmentAll hotel guests are required to have a negative parasite exam (fecal) within the last year. Your pet will be examined at check-in for fleas/ticks. If any are found we will bathe your pet that day. We wish to keep our facility and our other guests free of skin parasites. Vaccinations (rabies and canine/feline distemper) are required to be up-to-date for the protection of our staff and other hotel guests. If your pet requires medications while boarding, please bring them in with your pet and we will administer for an additional fee.

- Thyroid Disease TreatmentIt has been my pleasure to be a client of the Village Animal Clinic for over 20 years! My first dog, Nickie, had all kinds of issues! He was a rescue poodle with a thyroid problem and allergies. He received such great attention- and so did I! Dr. Prior and the entire staff were so kind, helpful and considerate! Now my new pup- not new- 10 years old gets the same great care! The good news is he is a healthy rescue, so we only go to the office for our yearly checkup! The personal, loving care keeps me coming back. Thank you!!!
- Heart Disease TreatmentTartar and dental disease cannot be removed by brushing but requires professional veterinary treatment. There are different anesthetic protocols used depending on your pet’s age and health. Our doctors at Village Animal Clinic may run pre-anesthesia blood, urine, and an EKG test to determine the best anesthesia protocol.
- Kidney Disease TreatmentSenior wellness (greater than 7 years of age) – Older pets need special tests and exams to catch age-related diseases such as diabetes, cancer, kidney disease, Cushing’s, and others. In addition to the detailed physical exam, diagnostic blood work, and urine testing, our veterinarians may also recommend an ultrasound, electrocardiograph (ECG), or radiographs (x-rays).
- Veterinary SurgeryVillage Animal Clinic offers all types of elective and emergency veterinary surgery. Our surgeons, Dr. Linda Wilson and Dr. Christopher Lapsley, perform surgery on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays. Our surgical suite is equipped with state-of-the-art monitoring equipment and anesthesia for safer sedation and a quicker recovery period.
- Laboratory ServicesNext, your pet will then be admitted into our surgical area where any necessary blood work will be drawn and laboratory tests done while your pet rests. The results will be promptly given to your doctor for evaluation.
