His Bachelor's degree was earned in 1985 from California State University, Sacramento, California. He received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life Chiropractic College West in Hayward, California in 1998. Upon graduation, he and his young family moved to Chicago in order to work with Dr. Marshall Dickholtz, Sr., which he did for over three years. In Dr. Giffen's opinion, Dr. Dickholtz was one of the two best chiropractors in the world practicing the NUCCA Chiropractic technique at that time. In 2004, he opened the office in Palatine, IL to serve the North, West, and Northwest Suburbs of Chicagoland. Dr. Giffen is a family man, sharing life with his wife, Polya, and his three children, Nick, Mary and Susie. 'I have chosen NUCCA because it corrects the main issues to many of the reasons why people develop health problems that cause pain and dysfunction. Without any cracking, popping or twisting, we can go to the primary misalignment that causes the other misalignments of the spine and pinches critically important nerve pathways. My greatest desire in practice is to see people get well.'
