Established in 1974, the Glades Health Care Center is a 120-plus-bed facility that provides treatment and nursing services. It offers a range of rehabilitative services that includes physical, occupational and speech therapies. The center provides treatments for Alzheimer s disease, arthritis, orthopedic complications and strokes. It offers wound care services and treatments for individuals with HIV. The Glades Health Care Center provides opportunities for recreation and socializing. The center also maintains an on-site beauty and barber shop. It additionally provides pain management services and assistance with daily living activities. The center is part of the Okeechobee Council on Aging, which is a nonprofit organization that provides skilled nursing services and long-term care.
