- More about Pacifica Chiropractic I incorporated *Photonic therapy* into my practice about five years ago. This laser-based treatment has proven to be an effective and painless tool to enhance wound healing and help recovery from a variety of muscle, tendon and nerve injuries. Along with our usual physiotherapy tools such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, axial and intersegmental traction, we have added a *Hydro-massage table,* a form of dry water massage. Our newest treatment tool, the ATM2 system, is quite revolutionary. Combined with evidence-based spinal rehabilitation protocols, this recently developed device is currently used in such diverse settings as football teams (including the San Francisco 49r's), Kaiser Permanente and Stanford Hospital! The ATM2 device, which a stands for "Active Therapeutic Movement" is able, in many cases, to provide long-term relief from movement impairments due to pain after just one or two treatments!

General Info
I have practiced in Pacifica since 1978, but if we haven't met I would like to give you a little personal history. The eldest son of nine children, I am the product of a military family and grew up living in many parts of the world. At age 19 I left college to join the U.S. Air Force and served in Bien Hoa and Phan Rang. After my Vietnam service, some lingering back injuries led me to try Chiropractic care for the first time. I was so impressed by the benefit it provided me, and the skill of the doctor providing the treatment that I began investigating Chiropractic as a career. I was surprised to learn that historical records indicate that manipulative therapies have existed throughout recorded time. Manipulation was documented in Chinese literature as far back as 2000 years ago, and from ancient Greece 2500 years ago. Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine instructed his students to, "Get knowledge of the spine, for this is requisite for many diseases." The following statemen t is attributed to the inventor and futurist, Thomas Edison in 1902, "The doctor of the future will give no medicine but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet and in the cause and prevention of disease". In short, I became convinced that Chiropractic?s core has both a solid past and a promising future. The rest is history. I put the "G.I. Bill" to work, and ultimately, I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Southern California in 1977.
