Approximately 3.5 million riders annually use Gold Coast Transit. Gold Coast Transit is a publicly-owned transit company providing bus service in western Ventura County within the cities of Ojai, Oxnard, Port Hueneme, San Buenaventura and the unincorporated areas. Gold Coast Transit has a fleet of more than 40 buses. Gold Coast Transit s bus routes are selected based on ongoing research and public input, to give its passengers the best access to their destination. All buses in Gold Coast Transit s fleet have a wheelchair lift and a 'kneeling' feature to aid persons with disabilities in riding public transit. The 'kneeling' feature hydraulically lowers the bus closer to the street level to make it easier to step on or off the bus.
