Established in 1996, Prairie Star Middle School, located in Leawood, Kan., offers an extensive curriculum for students in grades six through eight students. The school is governed by the Blue Valley School District. It provides various exploratory classes that include computer technology, industrial arts and trainings on musical instruments. It also offers regular subjects that include English, language arts, literature, social studies, science, mathematics, communications arts and reading, and health and physical education. The middle school provides a variety of facilities, such as a computer laboratory, music rooms, library and media center and cafeteria. The institution also offers the services of a counselor, speech and occupational therapists, media and library specialists and a nurse. In addition, Prairie Star Middle School has a parent-teacher organization that monitors and reviews the overall upbringing of the children.
