I received a $300 promotion in the mail from BMO and went to open an account with a banker named Robert in order to take advantage of the promotion. I held up to my part of the incentive. I had direct deposit to BMO for the correct amount of money each month for the correct amount of time. I have called 4 times now since the date when I was supposed to have received $300 for opening the account. Each time I called I have been told it would be a couple of days, but the money would never appear in my account even after a couple of days. This incentive must be a scam because they can't seem to hold up their end of the deal. Robert even asked if I would stay with BMO after the promotion ended. I let him know if I was satisfied with BMO then I would. Over time I found that their hours are few and also inconvenient to people who work everyday 9:00-5:00. They are not open on weekends either. I went there one time during their supposed hours, and they were closed. I feel taken advantage of and this should be a crime. How can it be legal for a bank to accept my money every month as I was supposed to, then when BMO is supposed to pay me, it's "a couple of days"? Today I was told someone made a mistake and that the incentive was not provided to BMO. So who was lying to me on the four times I called before today? This is a violation to my income, and now I can't close my account without forfeiting the incentive I have never gotten! Ridiculous! Do not bank at BMO!
