Hawaiian Tropic is the only international sun care brand manufactured by a privately owned company which specializes in sun care. The Hawaiian Tropic Tanning Research Lab manufactures more than 125 product formulations and nearly 400 different types of ingredients. Products offered include skin care for sun protection, sports, tanning, children, lip balm and after sun care. The company s founder, Ron Rice, sold his first bottle of Hawaiian Tropic in 1969. Hawaiian Tropic was among the first companies to develop the children's market for sun care with the introduction of Baby Faces Sunblock, the first to use bilingual packaging for foreign markets, the first to be approved by the Canadian Cancer Society and among the first to incorporate herbal aromatherapy in its formulas. The company employs more than 2,000 people worldwide. The Hawaiian Tropic Tanning Research Lab is headquartered in Ormond Beach, Fla.
