General Info
Our Mission Statement: The mission of Faith Lutheran Church is to faithfully proclaim the gospel while serving others according to God’s will; Faith Lutheran Church was founded in Ormond Beach, Florida in 1982 with a congregation of 21 charter members. Faith’s first minister was the Reverend Dr. John McCollister and its first meeting place was Tomoka Elementary School in Ormond Beach, FL. Subsequent pastors were the Reverend Ronald Starenko (1982-1987), the Reverend John W. Anderson (1988-1993), and the Reverend Steven C. Anderson (1995-2005). Our current pastor, the Reverend Dr. Marcia Cox, was installed in 2007. Situated amongst tall pine trees on a corner in the growing west end of Ormond Beach, our present building was constructed and dedicated in 1985. It comprises a narthex, sanctuary, church and pastoral offices, Sunday School classrooms that serve during the week as Montessori school rooms, a school office, choir robing room, church library, small group meeting space, and a sacristy. At the time of the dedication, our congregation numbered 175. In 1991, our Friendship Room, a small banquet room, was added to the rear of the sanctuary. It now serves as a meeting room and Montessori classroom. In 2005 we completed the construction of a new parish hall with a commercial-grade kitchen, adjacent to our sanctuary. As a part of this building program, we also redesigned and refurbished our church office space, Montessori school office and choir loft to meet the changing needs of our congregation. In summer of 2009, our sanctuary exterior was refurbished with stucco, new roof gutters, exterior paint, and hurricane code windows and doors. We painted the sanctuary interior, and added sheer curtains in the sanctuary, and sheers and draperies in the church offices. We bought a new Yamaha Clavinova digital piano for the sanctuary, and we had a new electrified church sign installed along Granada Blvd. In 2010 we had 3 air conditioning units replaced in the sanctuary building and we replaced our sanctuary building’s original roof. It now matches the parish hall roof. Landscaping of our new electric church sign is ongoing. As of 2005, our membership numbered 276 Spiritual Counseling, Summer Worship, Funerals, Christian Counseling, Ceremonies, Healing, Marriage Counseling, Confirmation
