The LGL Group is a holding corporation for two manufacturing subsidiaries: Lynch Systems and MtronPTI. Lynch Systems designs and manufactures equipment for the electronic display and consumer glass industries. It serves two markets: manufacturers of cathode ray tubes for computer monitors, televisions and electronic displays, and consumer glass products, such as tableware and ovenware. The company has a joint venture with AMAV of Germany to provide advanced glass-manufacturing equipment. MtronPTI designs and manufactures customized electronic components used to control the frequency or timing of electronic signals in communications systems. The components are commonly called frequency control devices, crystals, oscillators or filters, and are used in telecommunications systems to produce a signal for wireless, fiber optic and wireline applications. The components are also used in avionics, military and civilian radios, medical instrumentation and global positioning systems. The LGL Group sells products to original equipment manufacturers, contract manufacturers and distributors for resale.
