Bernadette Profeta, MD, FACS, is a board-certified general surgeon who consults with patients at AdventHealth Medical Group’s surgical specialty offices in east Orlando. Patients are frequently referred to her care due to her expertise in minimally invasive surgical procedures to address swallowing disorders; paraesophageal, inguinal and ventral hernias; and gastrointestinal and solid organ diseases. A recipient of the Chief Resident Hands of a Surgeon Award and numerous “Top Docs†honors, she is a recognized leader in her field and active member of multiple medical societies. She earned her medical degree and completed her general surgery residency at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia and capped her medical training with a fellowship in advanced minimally invasive and bariatric surgery at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center in Richmond.
