Located in Oriskany, N.Y., the Department of Public Works is operated by the Oneida County, N.Y. The department is responsible for highways and bridge construction and handles engineering projects. The county works through airport audit, county attorney, district attorney, emergency services, finance, health, labor relations and mental health departments. It also maintains county clerk and county executive offices, as well as a child advocacy center. In addition, Oneida County has traffic safety, planning and workforce development departments. Its youth bureau organizes a variety of recreational activities for children. The county offers social services through day care assistance and employment and services divisions.
