The owner, Mrs. Cooper, is a very nice lady. However, her staff is not very enjoyable. I went in to pick up my prom dress and a skinny brown haired lady was unbelievably rude. She would make rude comments and she had a terrible attitude. She was very unprofessional. I will never go there again because of her.

I enjoy my visit to the dress shop. The active with young girls looking for prom grows. I was looking for a dress for mother of the groom and found it. I believe everyone was taken care politely and was excicment for each,With attention to detail.

The owner was to busy to help us. There was no body there and she was too busy talking on the phone with someone. She was cussing on the phone also and my mom and I stood at the desk while she was facing us- completely ignoring our presence. She was dressed unprofessionally, in her tight, tight gym clothes. She obviously didn't want our business.. She was too busy talking about going to the gym in a couple minutes. I will not give $4-500 away to some one that does not deserve it.. So disrespectful.... Don't go there..

Bought my daughters prom dress yesterday and had a wonderful experience. All the women were knowledgable and so helpful. They even offered to hold the dress for us for 24 hours b/c my daughter wanted to show pics to her Dad. We came back to the store to buy the gown 2 hours later. Mrs. Cooper was a delightful woman who was knows her business and clientele. I would recommend Coopers Dress Shop to anyone looking for formal wear. My reply to the reviewers who thought the employees at the shop were rude is this is not JC Penny where you can man handle the gowns- the gowns are in prestine condition because the ladies zip the backs up and hold the dress aside while you continute to browse. Kudos to Mrs. Cooper and her Ladies! - THANK YOU for making prom gown shopping with my baby memorable!

We had the best experience. My daughter was shopping for a prom dress. We must have gone to at least 10 stores. By chance we saw Cooper's. Thank God! We walked in the front door and were greeted by a lovely sales associate. We stated the size and the color we were looking for and she returned within maybe 3 minutes with several dresses. We absolutely loved the first one! It was perfect. At that point we had such a wonderful converstation with the owner, who stated she has been in business for over 60 years! She was adorable! I cannot say enough about the service and how special they made us feel! I definitely give them 5 stars and would return for any future functions! Thank you Cooper's!

tacky dress, horrible service. i walked in was yelled at for TOUCHING a dress and walked right out. I have never been to a place like this, an expensive wedding dress shop can maybe run their business like this but a cheap tacky prom dress shop like coopers has no right to treat their customers like this.

I like to consider myself a very patient and friendly person and have been working in customer service for over 25 years. this place is the worst customer service experience I have EVER had. I do not know how this place stays in business other than the demand of prom dresses. If we just went to places based on customer service, this place would be out of business. They do carry a large quantity of great dresses but very expensive and cranky attitudes (especially when you are shelling out a good penny) make this one place I will never step foot into again.

We wanted to simple exchange a deposit from one dress to another, keeping our business in her store...can't do it...no refunds no exchanges...no exceptions...she may be keeping our $100 dollar deposit but my daughter's prom dress and the prom dresses for my other daughter will be bought any place else... Living in Orange I like to keep business local...her shop is the exception to this rule.

i went to coopers for the first time and found that they had a great selection,but you do need to have patience and make sure you allow the time to try on many beautiful dresses,remember its once in a life time,and you wont get that time back.my daughter was absolutley beautiful and soo happy with her dress,thank you coppers

Having grown up in New Haven, I have shopped at Coopers a lot over the years. From weddings to formals, the Prom and now the yearly Marine Corps Ball. Yes, the service is sometimes slow, but the women there have been dressing people for decades and really know what they are doing. They won't lie to you just to sell a dress. If it makes you look fat they are straight forward about it. I don't think thats rude at all. After having two children I went from being a size 2 (my wedding dress was purchased from Coopers and it fit like a glove) to being a size 4 to 6 and then I have it altered. Heres my advice... If you want a nice dress, go to Coopers. Leave your low self esteem at the door, be up front about your budget, be clear about the style and color you would prefer and I guarantee you will leave with the perfect dress.

0 rating...staff of this store is rude and unprofessional.i went with my daughter and asked them about a particular style of dress and the staff told us yes they do have that style but it is expensive...so i asked how much and she said it is $400 then i told this rude lady that's fine it's cheap because my budget is up to $800 then left the store...NOTE:i have to click a star just to submit this review!!!SO THAT IS NOT A REAL RATING!!!

Just ordered the prom dress - so far so good. Went on Sunday and had amazing customer service. Told Jeanne what we were looking for, she pulled a load of dresses, and we found the perfect prom dress. Turned out to be $50.00 cheaper than the exact same dress at Dynamite Designs!!! I will keep you all posted once the dress comes in and gets altered. I know what a pain dress shopping is for us moms. My advise: shop the internet, find the company or style you like, and come prepared!! Makes for a pleasant experience. Good luck to all!!

This store has many beautiful dresses. When you go there make sure you bring lots of patience, the service is slow and the staff is pushy. With that said if you are looking for something dressy and unique dress, this is the place to shop at.

Clearly their business practices need to be reviewed. Coopers is the most unprofessional and unorganzied run business I have ever had to deal with. They are extremely arrogant, rude, and disrespectful to their customers. And the fighting among themselves is something no customer should ever experience. Customer service is non-existent. Alternations are a nightmare with dresses not being done until 1-2 days before an event - with even more corrections needed!! My recommendation would be for consumers to contact the manufacturer of a dress you may like and ask for an alternate purchasing source. Remember, we as consumers have the final say as to where we want to send our money. I know I will never deal with Coopers again. 0 star rating is generous as you can not go lower.
