Dr. Burns was born in New York, New York and moved to the Central Florida area in 1993. Her training was at The School of Medicine at Stoneybrook, which is part of the State University of New York. Her pediatric training was in Long Island, New York at Nassau County Medical Center. Once she moved to the Central Florida area she worked at the Volusia County Health Department. She then decided to leave the Health Department to open her own practice. The vision of the practice is based on a Micro-practice model, which allows her to specialize in one on one care with her patients and their families. Her special interests are ADHD (ADD) and weight management.
