  Before joining W&O’, Chloe worked at a Northern California immigration law firm, focusing on removal defense and family-based immigration cases. She also represented clients at USCIS interviews and in the Superior Court for the State of California in guardianship matters related to Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) cases.

Criminal Law

• Criminal Defense
  Derek Poulsen is the managing attorney at the San Diego office of Wilner & O’Reilly, APLC.  He is admitted to the Iowa State Bar and the Nebraska State Bar. Mr. Poulsen focuses his practice on removal defense cases where he represents clients before the Immigration Court and on appeal with the Board of Immigration Appeals. He graduated from Utah State University where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with a Minor in Spanish. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from Creighton University School of Law. During law school he was selected to be on Creighton’s National Trial Team and earned the Honorable Lyle E. Strom Trial Advocacy Award. Derek previously worked at the immigration law office of Jason Finch and Associates, PC, LLO, in Omaha, Nebraska. During his time there his practice included criminal defense. He gained valuable knowledge of the negative immigration consequences that differing criminal activity has on an individual’s ability to remain in the United States. He also worked on family based immigration, U-Visas, Special Immigrant Juvenile Visas, and 601/601A waivers. While in Nebraska Derek provided pro bono legal service at the Latino Center of the Midlands where he provided legal advice to immigrants.

  Our law firm was founded upon and is dedicated to upholding Judeo-Christian values. Accordingly, we choose not to represent persons convicted of sex crimes such as rape or crimes against children.
• Misdemeanors
  Mr. Jurado began working with W&O’ as a law clerk (while attending law school) in the firm’s Orange County office.  While attending law school, Mr. Jurado was a member of the San Bernardino Misdemeanor Appellate Clinic and the Justice and Immigration Clinic where he advocated for clients as he helped guide them through the complex legal system.

  Prior to becoming an attorney, Maza clerked with Wilner & O’Reilly, ALPC, and focused on removal and family-based immigration cases. He gained valuable knowledge on the complexities associated with asylum, marriage based green cards, and 601/601A waivers.  He also lived and studied in Madrid, Spain. His passion for immigration law is deeply ingrained, stemming from personal experiences as the son of a Vietnamese immigrant and father who is also an immigration lawyer.

  Nancy Vo is the Chair of Wilner & O’Reilly’s Employment Based Immigration Department. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Whittier Law School. While at Whittier, she was an editor on Whittier Law Review, had an article published in 2015, and earned a CALI award in Legal Writing. Prior, Ms. Vo earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Public Law from the University of California, San Diego.

  In 2015, Ms. Vo began interning at W&O’ while attending law school. She later worked as a law clerk/case manager. Today, Ms. Vo works primarily in the firm’s employment-based practice where she focuses on non-immigrant petitions such as O-1s and P-1s for extraordinary and internationally recognized individuals, H-1Bs, L-1 intra-company transferees, E-2 treaty investor visas, as well as a range of employment-based immigrant petitions and PERM Labor Certification applications. She also has experience in family-based immigration matters, including but not limited to adjustment of status, I-751, 601/601A waivers and VAWA.

  Chloe Tomlinson is an Associate Attorney in the Removal Defense department at W&O’. She earned her Juris Doctor from Santa Clara University School of Law, where she was actively involved in the Immigration Clinic, International Human Rights Clinic, and the Northern California Innocence Project. Admitted to the State Bar of California in 2019, Chloe brings both experience and dedication to the W&O’ team.
