The Communications Division is managed by the Orange County Sheriff's Department. The division manages the operation of the 800 MHz Countywide Coordinated Communications System for local public safety agencies. It offers design, installation, maintenance and programming solutions for communication and electronic equipment, such as control systems and mobile and portable radios. The Communications Division also provides engineering and frequency management services. The division manages an emergency communications section that oversees the development, implementation and ongoing operation of various systems. In addition, it offers solutions for park rangers, courts, jails, probation facilities and public works agencies. The Communications Division provides technical services for drug prevention vehicles.
