Laura B. Hughes, M.D., M.S.P.H. is a member of the team atEast Alabama Rheumatology Center. Dr. Hughes earned her medical degree from theUniversity of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) with Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) honors.She completed a residency in internal medicine, including a chief medicalresident year, at Carraway Methodist Medical Center in Birmingham, Ala. Shecompleted her fellowship training in clinical immunology and rheumatology atUAB, where she remained on faculty for 18 years.Dr. Hughes is originally from Ormond Beach, Fla. She and her husband, Robert, have two children, George and Charlie. In her spare time, Dr. Hughes enjoys spendingtime with family and friends, running, music, and attending Auburn Universitysporting events.
