The Opelika Fire Department is an agency for all fire emergencies medical and hazardous material call needs. Based in Opelika, Ala., its services comprise front run rescue trucks, automatic external defibrillators and reserve rescue trucks. The fire department's programs include a House Burning program for condemned property; CPR classes for area businesses and organizations; and fire prevention/safety training programs for area schools and civic groups. It carries state-of-the-art equipment comprising Level A suits, high pressure air bottles, power plant, air compressor, chemical absorbent pads, to name a few.
